What is Jeanne’s “Bestest Friend” Event?

Calling all “Bestest” Friends!... and those who want to make new ones!

“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ‘Til the good gets better and the better gets best.” Most of us know this saying from high school English. It was supposed to teach us that there isn’t a word past “best.” Oh, really?

As far as women are concerned, the word “best” has lost its lofty position because we have a tendency to refer to anyone we see once a week in the produce section as one of our “best friends” “Marsha! Come over here. I want you to meet one of my best friends, Nancy Ann. (“What did you say your last name is, Nancy Ann?”)

Then there are hordes of “very best friends” and “really best friends,” not to mention the never-ending “new best friends.” Therefore, my really very best friend and I decided years ago that we would throw grammarians into a tizzy and call ourselves “bestest friends.” We’ve always said you could have only one “Bestest Friend.” Mine is Norma Rose. (We always give our little girls two names in the South in case they want to be in a pageant.)

Now, ta’da!...we’re having a “Bestest Friend Event” and you and your best, very best and bestest friends are all invited. There’ll be three humor-packed sessions and lots of free time to relax, see Louisville, spend time with your friends or make new ones. It’s a Girls’ Night Out that lasts at least two days, maybe more, because there’s lots to do in Louisville and many special extra events are yours for the choosing. Although we’ll have a few men on stage during the three entertaining shows, it’s exclusively JUST FOR WOMEN, JUST FOR FUN!

Join me and my “bestest” friends (including Left Brain, of course) at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky, May 18 and 19, 2012.
